A walk in the Park
It’s raining as I write this, but it was warm and humid when we walked around Central Park in NYC. It’s a delightful and intricate expanse, and busy on a hot Labor Day public holiday Monday. Here are some pics of some musical / interesting occurrences. An alto player from Montenegro whose son who works as a chef in Sydney. Vassily, a bassist who was setting up to busk classical solo bass in the park. A lesbian marriage ceremony. People taking pics at the Imagine mosaic at Strawberry Fields, in memory of John Lennon, and the guitar/singer who was playing Beatles songs by the side. This is just near his Dakota apartments where JL was shot. A photo of the A Train, as in Ellington’s famed theme tune, one of which we took to 125th Street in Harlem. Lovely day, some very friendly and helpful people and a bit of NYC (and for that matter, world) history.
